Are you a great communicator with creative ideas
on how to convey complex ideas in a clear way to the public and
motivate them to take action? The International Secretariat of the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) is seeking a Campaigns Coordinator (32 hr/week, based in Amsterdam).
The
CCC is an international campaign, focused on improving working
conditions in the global garment and sportswear industries, and empower
the workers in it. There are Clean Clothes Campaigns in 12 European
countries. The Campaigns Coordinator will play a leading role in the
development and coordination of the CCC’s global campaigns. For an
example of a recent CCC global campaign see the Play Fair 2008 campaign
(www.playfair2008.org and www.catchtheflame.org).
Job Description
1. Public campaigning- Participate
in development and coordination of strategies (including
communications), activities, and materials for the CCC’s international
campaigns
- Communications/consultation with the CCC’s
international partner network (includes the network of CCCs in Europe
and communication with the CCC’s broader international network of
partners and allies around the world)
- Organization of international meetings and steering committees related to campaigning activities
- Participate
in fundraising for CCC campaigning activities, including providing
inputs for and/or writing funding applications/reports
2. Policy/strategy development
- Participate in the development of the CCC’s international communications strategy.
- Participate in organizational strategy development.
Note:
- This position involves travel within and beyond Europe.
- Applicants must have permission to work in the Netherlands.
- The CCC IS operates within a non-hierarchical framework; all members of the IS team carry out administrative tasks.
Skills: Demonstrable
experience in public campaign planning, campaign implementation on the
ground, and media work is a must. We are seeking a creative and
enthusiastic person with strong writing and communications skills,
excellent English (including written), who is well-organized and able
to keep track of multiple ongoing tasks, able to work independently and
as part of a team. Commitment to labour rights, knowledge of garment
industry and labour rights issues, sense of humor and activist
background a plus.
CCC offers:
- salary of €2260 (gross) per month for a 32-hour work week
